The video shows workers from the ‘Ice Me’ company licking ice creams before packing them. Outraged by the footage, locals confronted Rashid, one of the workers, and handed him over to the Koduvalli police.
Following the incident, food safety officers canceled the company’s registration and sent a report to the Assistant Food Safety Commissioner for further action.
The video was secretly recorded by a customer who visited the company to buy ice cream and witnessed the workers’ actions.
As the video went viral and complaints poured in, police sealed the company and collected samples for testing, which were sent to the Malappuram Regional Analytical Lab.
