Bengaluru, October 17: Ind Vs NZ: A stunning display of bowling from New Zealand’s Matt Henry led to India’s humiliating collapse in the first Test match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, India’s batting lineup was completely dismantled by the Kiwi pacers. Five Indian batsmen, including Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin, were dismissed for ducks, setting a new record for the most ducks in an Indian Test innings.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant offered some resistance, but their efforts were not enough to prevent India from being bowled out for a paltry 46 runs. Henry finished with a five-wicket haul, while William O’Rourke also claimed four wickets.
The Indian team will need a strong performance with the ball to stay in the contest.
