Jalsa,’ a drama film featuring Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah, will be available on Prime Video globally on March 18th.
T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment are co-producing the film, which is helmed by Suresh Triveni of ‘Tumhari Sulu’ fame.
‘Jalsa,’ according to the streamer, is a highly interesting and intriguing storey of conflict told through the lives of a top-tier journalist and her cook.
The film is Prime Video and Abundantia Entertainment’s ninth collaboration, following films such as ‘Chhorii,’ ‘Durgamati,’ ‘Ram Setu,’ and the hit Amazon Original series ‘Breathe.’
It is also Prime Video and Balan’s third collaboration, following ‘Shakuntala Devi’ and ‘Sherni.’
Suresh has braided Jalsa into a wonderful tale of complicated emotions, well-etched personalities, and a riveting pace, starring two of today’s best performers, Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah.
Jalsa‘, which tells a complicated storey through the lives of a prominent journalist and her chef, also stars Manav Kaul, Rohini Hattangadi, Iqbal Khan, Vidhatri Bandi, Shrikant Mohan Yadav, Shafeen Patel, and Surya Kasibhatla.

Manav Kaul, Rohini Hattangadi, Iqbal Khan, Vidhatri Bandi, Shrikant Mohan Yadav, Shafeen Patel, and Surya Kasibhatla also appear in ‘Jalsa.’
The film also marks a reunion for Triveni, Balan, and Kaul, who worked together on the 2017 comedy-drama ‘Tumhari Sulu.’
