Prominent car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has made a significant announcement regarding a reduction in car prices. The company has stated that this reduction applies exclusively to its Auto Gear Shift (AGS) vehicles. The new prices are effective starting today, as noted in the company’s exchange filing.
The AGS variant vehicles for which Maruti has announced a price reduction include the Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, Wagon-R, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Fronx, and Ignis. These models will now be available with a price reduction of Rs. 5,000.
However, Maruti has not disclosed the reason behind the price cut. It appears that this decision is aimed at making AGS variants more affordable.
Auto Gear Shift is an automatic transmission technology first introduced by Maruti Suzuki in 2014. It combines the benefits of both manual and automatic transmissions, automatically shifting gears as needed.
Given the increasing traffic, especially in urban areas, AGS makes driving easier and also enhances fuel efficiency.
