Telangana Prepares for Miss World 2025 with ₹27 Crore Budget

Hyderabad is set to host the prestigious Miss World 2025 pageant from May 7, spanning 24 days, with contestants from 140 countries expected to participate. The grand opening ceremony will be held at the Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli, while the finals are scheduled to take place at HITEX on May 31.

The total estimated cost of the event is ₹54 crore, with the Telangana government departments contributing ₹27 crore. The remaining ₹27 crore will be borne by the Miss World organization. The state government plans to raise its share of ₹27 crore through sponsorships.

Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and Miss World Limited CEO Julia Morley shared these details during a media interaction. Jupally Krishna Rao expressed optimism that hosting the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant in Telangana would enhance the state’s global recognition while boosting employment and investment opportunities.

Speaking at the event, Julia Morley emphasized that the Miss World pageant represents more than just beauty, serving as a symbol of international culture and empowerment.

Christina, the reigning Miss World 2025, shared her excitement about returning to India, where she won her crown last year. She expressed her fondness for the country, stating, “India holds a special place in my heart.” She also mentioned her joy in wearing a saree, describing it as a delightful experience.

Tourism Department Secretary Smita Sabharwal highlighted that the event would be organized in a manner that reflects Telangana’s rich cultural heritage. She added that various programs would be conducted at prominent tourist destinations across the state to promote its attractions during the pageant.

The government is hopeful that the successful hosting of the Miss World 2025 pageant will contribute significantly to Telangana’s image on the global stage.
