Veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Shami is on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery for an ankle injury sustained during the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Currently, Shami is rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, where he has been spotted bowling in the nets.
Although his progress is promising, there is no definitive timeline for his return to competitive cricket.
In an interview with The Times of India, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah expressed optimism about Shami’s participation in the upcoming 5-match Test series against Australia later this year.
Shah highlighted the importance of Shami’s experience, stating that the team is well-prepared and that the pacer’s presence will be crucial for India’s success in the series.
