Pakistan PM Imran Khan removed as prime minister after no-confidence vote-2022
Imran Khan was ousted as Pakistan’s prime minister on Sunday after losing a no-confidence motion in parliament after weeks of political instability.
While no previous Pakistani prime minister has served a full five-year term, the former cricket star is the first to be deposed in a no-confidence vote, according to the New York Times.
According to the numbers: According to the Washington Post, the resolution was approved by 174 votes in the 342-seat parliament early Sunday local time, two more than was necessary for a simple majority.
Pakistan PM Imran Khan has experienced numerous recent defections, most notably a crucial partner leaving the ruling coalition, which cost him the majority in Parliament last month.
