Veeranjaneyulu Viharayatra Movie Review: A Heartwarming Family Journey

In recent times, OTT platforms have seen an increase in thriller genre content. In this context, ETV Win is showing enthusiasm in providing family-oriented content.

As part of this effort comes the film “Veeranjaneyulu Viharayatra.” Starring Naresh in a key role, this movie starts streaming today.

The movie, produced by Bapineedu and Sudheer Edara, is directed by Anurag Palutla. Let’s see how this movie fares.

Veeranjaneyulu (played by Brahmanandam) is a retired railway employee. After retirement, he uses his savings to buy a house in Goa, naming it “Happy Home.”

He loves Goa and cherishes the house dearly. His son Nageswara Rao (played by Naresh) and daughter-in-law Savitri settle in Visakhapatnam.

They have two children, a son named Veeru (played by Rag Mayur) and a daughter named Sarayu (played by Praya Vadlamani). Veeranjaneyulu’s wife, Kantham (played by Srilakshmi), stays with their son.

Nageswara Rao works as a school teacher, while his son Veeru is involved in startup ventures in Hyderabad. Veeru’s father is unaware that his son has left his job to pursue his own business ventures. Aishwarya, a wealthy girl, is in love with Veeru.

Meanwhile, Sarayu is in love with Tarun, the son of a rich family. Both families agree to their marriage but impose a condition that the wedding must be grand, leaving Nageswara Rao deep in thought.

The school administration dismisses Nageswara Rao from his job, believing that he is unable to communicate effectively with the younger generation. However, he keeps this to himself and starts making other plans.

He decides to sell the house in Goa to fund his daughter’s wedding and begins the necessary arrangements. Needing everyone’s signatures for the registration, he devises a plan without revealing his true intentions.

He convinces everyone to take a trip to Goa, intending to scatter his father’s ashes in the sea and spend a day peacefully at “Happy Home” before returning.

They all travel in an old van that Veeranjaneyulu had used in the past. Kantham’s last wish is to spend her final days in their beloved house in Goa.

Sarayu, on the other hand, dreams of staying in that house after her marriage and planning her business ventures.

During the journey, Nageswara Rao discovers that Sarayu is pregnant and that Veeru has quit his job. The family also learns that he plans to sell the house in Goa.

How do they react? Will they agree to sell the house? Will Sarayu marry Tarun? Will Veeru’s project succeed? Will Kantham’s last wish be fulfilled? These questions form the rest of the story.

The director, who has crafted these narratives, starts the story in a simple, natural, and light-hearted manner, gradually touching upon strong emotions.

The journey in the van, purchased with much love by Veeranjaneyulu, to the house he painstakingly bought in Goa, forms the crux of this story.

The journey, filled with not only his ashes but also the family’s hopes and dreams, captivates the audience.

Throughout the journey, there are moments of affection, disagreements, and reconciliations among the family members.

Emotions such as anger and sorrow arise, making the journey rich with various emotional experiences. The comedy also attempts to lighten the mood at crucial moments.

As the family travels in the van, every viewer feels like they are part of the journey, sharing in the emotions. The director skillfully navigates the story and the characters from start to finish.

The locations during the van’s journey add a pleasant touch to the narrative. Srilakshmi, with her mannerism of saying “I don’t know how long I will live,” adds depth to the film.

All the actors, including Brahmanandam, who played a special role, bring life to their characters.

In addition to the storytelling, Vikram’s background score and Ankur’s cinematography are impressive.

The story conveys the message that when each family member faces their problems alone, they seem overwhelming. However, when they all come together, those problems melt away like camphor.

The movie successfully delivers the message that the strength of a family lies in its bonds and that with that strength, any problem can be overcome, allowing one to live happily.

This is a movie that the whole family can sit and enjoy together.
