The Indian cricket team has arrived in Dubai for the ICC Champions Trophy, with players already immersed in intensive practice sessions. However, a recent directive from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced new restrictions, including a ban on players bringing personal chefs, stylists, or support staff on overseas tours. Instead, BCCI has arranged a single chef for the entire squad.
Virat Kohli, known for his strict diet and fitness discipline, found an alternative way to ensure he received his preferred meals. According to sources, shortly after reaching the practice venue on Sunday, he received a food delivery in neatly packed containers. Since personal chefs were not permitted, Kohli coordinated with the local team manager to arrange his meals from a well-known food outlet, providing specific instructions regarding their preparation.
“After the practice session, Virat Kohli was handed a few food packets. While other players were packing up their kits, he finished his meal at the venue. He also set aside some packets to eat later on the team bus,” sources from the cricketing fraternity revealed.
As the ICC Champions Trophy approaches, India will play its first match against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by a highly anticipated clash against Pakistan on February 23, and a match against New Zealand on March 1.
